Al Weinstein studied sculpture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and the Carving Studio- Sculpture Center in Vermont.
Al is a member of the New England Sculptors Association (NESA). He has exhibited his work at the Fuller Craft Museum, the Augustus Saint Gaudens National Park, the Kaji Aso Gallery, the Vermont Carving Studio, Artblitz, the Hess Gallery at Pine Manor College, the Carlisle Public Library, and Newton City Hall, among other sites.
After initially working in clay and plaster, he has focused mostly on stone and wood. Al’s work is both figurative and abstract and often whimsical, with some imagery derived from his background in biology.
